This benefit concert celebrates SYDEFX’s #1 fan, friend and advisor, Emily Robinson. We lost Em October 14, 2007 to kidney disease at the age of 26. Emily developed kidney disease at 7 after having strep throat. She received two kidney transplants in her life, one from her Mom and one from her Dad. The first benefit concert was held on April 25, 2008 – Emily’s 27th birthday. All proceeds go to the National Kidney Foundation of Georgia’s Camp Independence program in loving memory of Emily Robinson. Camp Independence is Emily’s childhood camp. Emily’s Song was written on October 15, 2007 when SYDEFX found out about Emily’s passing. It’s a beautiful love song about a friend. Its on the myspace page ( www.myspace.com/sydefxmusic ) and available on iTunes. A portion of the proceeds goes to Camp Independence. We finally made the video and will premiere it at the benefit show before SYDEFX takes the stage.
